Tesla Model Y Overview
The Model Y marks Tesla's long-awaited debut in India, bringing a blend of minimalist design and tech-loaded features. Available in two rear-wheel-drive variants, the Model Y combines sleek styling, a tech-laden cabin, and claimed range of up to 622 km.
Design
Up front, the Model Y sports a blanked-off fascia with slim LED DRLs that merge into a light bar, giving it a sharp and modern character. The profile of the Model Y carries a coupe-like crossover with a sloping roofline flowing into the tailgate. Flush door handles enhance its styling, while 19-inch all-black alloy wheels give it a sporty stance. At the rear, connected LED tail lamps, a clean tailgate design, and a subtle integrated spoiler rounds-off its contemporary design.
Interior and Features
Inside, the Tesla Model Y continues its minimalist approach with an all-black cabin theme as standard. You can also choose a dual-tone black and white interior at an additional cost of Rs 95,000. The dashboard is flat, highlighted by a single strip of ambient lighting stretching across its width. As expected from Tesla, physical buttons are almost entirely absent, with the large 15.4-inch central touchscreen controlling nearly every function.
The cabin gets a three-spoke steering wheel with integrated controls, a wide centre console with covered storage and a wireless charging pad, and power-reclining rear seats for added comfort. Rear occupants are further presented with an 8-inch touchscreen for entertainment and climate controls.
Feature highlights include ventilated and heated front seats, a 9-speaker sound system, wireless phone charger, connected car tech, ambient lighting, air purifier, and a powered frunk for additional luggage storage.
Safety tech comprises multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera system, a built-in dashcam, and the option to equip a full advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) for a premium of Rs 6 lakh.
