Car makers offer discounts to reverse dip in sales
Reasons that account for dip in car sales in the Indian car market include; higher rate of interest, sky high fuel prices and inflation, that has made car makers face the heat in the last few seasons. According to some statistics, about 10% of downfall was seen in the sales of cars in the last month (May).
But now, the car makers have got the solution to trigger up the sales of their cars by offering special discounts and offers to lure their customers. The head general manager of Maruti Suzuki, Mr. Shashank Srivastav reportedly has said that the best way to improve car sales is by providing the customers with superior packaged discounts.

Arrival of discounts signifies the reoccurrence of a plan that paid healthy dividends during the period of car boom in the year of 2009-2010. According to a Maruti dealer in Delhi, through a hard time, discount comes as a savior. Since last 2 months, a massive downfall has been seen in the car sales which is expected to get better with the discounts that will be offered in June. These superior discounts include a cash benefit of around Rs. 60,000. Maruti, Fiat, Tata, General Motors and Ford are amongst those car manufacturers who have offered substantial discounts in the month of May. General Motors proffers its customers a loyalty additional benefit of Rs. 10,000 in its exchange offer.

On the other hand, Volkswagen Vento offered free gizmos along with free car insurance. Even some of the luxurious and popular cars in India, such as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and Audi also gave their consumers some special offers. For example Mercedes Benz and Audi tempted the consumers with a 0% interest rate on selected models, whereas Porsche was providing loans at 2.5% of interest rate for Porsche 911 and Porsche Cayman models.
