BMW the leader in the luxury car segment is adding a new compact SUV BMW X1 in India which will be launched on 23^rd December, 2010. The compact SUV is expected to be coming in two versions in India- Corporate Edition and Highline. The BMW X1 is speculated to be powered with 1.8 litre petrol and 2.0 litre diesel engine. The all new SUV BMW X1 is coming in a rear-drive vehicle which will help BMW to price the car competitively against its rivals. The BMW X1 is based on the 3 series platform. The BMW X1 is equipped with stronger wheelbase of 2760 mm and 4454 mm long. The BMW X1 CE base variant will not include the following features such as i-drive interface, sunroof and 6-CD changer instead it will have single CD player. The CE variant will have fabric seats and simple black trim other than wooden interiors. In the top end BMW X1 Highline model, the car will have Xenon headlamps, leather seats and parking sensors.

BMW X1 which is based on the BMW 3 series, will be brought here as a CKD unit and assembled at the company's manufacturing plant in Chennai . It is expected that BMW X1 will open new compact SUV segment. The BMW X1 will start with a price range of Rs 22 lakh which is priced quite competitively in the domestic auto market. The compact SUV has gained alot of popularity in the overseas market and is witnessing the growth in the Indian auto market which has lured the car maker to launch the new SUV in India.

As I am interested in SUV and need to have it by next 3/6months,May I know the exact price on road. Is it a 5seater or 7Seater?????? Also if I pay upfront,Do I get any discount??????. What is the Delivery time??????? Thanx and regard
