BMW India to provide 1,200 jobs through company's dealer network

earlier this month we heard it from BMW that they are planning to expand their dealership network and is aims to trap all major metropolitan centres around the country by year 2011. the dealership centres will be of international standards and now it is commented that it will generate 1,200 jobs in India.

The first phase led to twelve successful dealership centres in India located in all major metropolitan cities which has now increased to 20 in number. For 2011 the company intends to establish 22 BMW dealerships on Indian grounds. BMW India will make an investment of Rs 1.8 billion by 2012 as against Rs 1.1 billion spent till September 2010.

the manufacturing unit of BMW in India is situated at Sriperumbudur near Chennai which is used to build its models like BMW X1, BMW 5 series and BMW 3 series. A total of 8,000 units can be manufactured in this plant annually.

Indian luxury car market is growing heavily which is attracting many new launches from top brands like Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Audi and many others. Thus a great variety is available in Luxury car market which is increasing competition heavily. Companies are following aggressive strategies to trap the maximum market in India. BMW thus is working hard to increase its dealership network so that it can reach its customers at a large scale.

Recently the company launched its powerful and pocket friendly SUV, BMW X1. The model has gained huge popularity in market owing to the its smart pricing strategy. The exclusive power wagon is competing with Chevrolet Cpativa, Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Pajero, Mitsubishi Outlander, Toyota Fortuner and the likes.
