After several rumors surfaced in the Bimmer universe, a glitch in the official German website gave confirmation of a more powerful BMW 7 Series variant, the M760Li. This M-powered variant of company's flagship model was accidentally stumbled upon while specifying a car using BMW’s online configuration tool. Although, the details remain a bit hazy for now, but what we figured out was that the car will have more than 600 horses and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. But natural, the M760Li will compete with the fellow German rival, AMG S65 and will be priced accordingly.

The M badged barge will sport a 6.6 litre V12 derived from Rolls Royce pumping out more than 600 horses. The standard 760Li will feature a relatively less powerful V12 motor. What remains to be seen is whether the 760Li twins will feature the xDrive all-wheel drive system or not.

Rolls-Royce has employed the same 6.6 litre V12 in its Ghost where it is tuned to produce 591 bhp and 800 Nm torque. If figures similar to these are adopted by BMW, the 7-Series ‘M’ will shoot from a standstill to 100km/h in less than 4.5 seconds and would be capable of achieving 300+ km/h (if not electronically limited).

The new 7-Series will have its Indian debut at the 2016 Auto Expo alongside M2, X1 and the new 3 Series facelift. Moreover, X6M and X5M SUVs were launched in India by BMW in October at a price tag of INR 1.60 crore and INR 1.55 crore respectively (prices ex-showroom Chennai) to broaden its foothold in the country.
