    • Audi will launch the facelifted RS 5 on August 9.

    • The 2021 RS 5 gets redesigned bumpers, new LED headlights and tail lamps, and new alloy wheels.

    • It will continue to be powered by the same 2.9-litre twin-turbo petrol engine like its older version.

    • Audi is expected to price it at a premium over the pre-facelift model that retailed from Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom).

The Audi RS 5 is set to make a comeback in India, now in its facelifted avatar, on August 9. Audi is expected to offer it in a single four-door coupe body style, unlike its pre-facelift version that was a two-door coupe (Sportback).

Since it is a facelift, let’s talk about the cosmetic changes first. The 2021 RS 5 gets new LED headlights and tail lamps, redesigned bumpers, and new alloy wheels housed in wide wheel arches.

On the inside, the facelifted RS 5 comes with Audi’s latest infotainment system and an updated digital driver’s display. The swivel wheel for the touchscreen unit has been replaced by a cubby hole.

Audi will offer the facelifted RS 5 with the same 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine (450PS/600Nm), mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. It can complete the 0-100kmph run in 3.8 seconds with its top speed electronically limited to 280kmph. Of course, the facelifted RS 5 gets an all-wheel drivetrain.

The facelifted RS 5 will come at a premium over the pre-facelift model which was priced from Rs 1.11 crore (ex-showroom). It will go up against the Mercedes-AMG C43 and BMW M3.
