The facelifted RS 5 is a direct import priced competitively at Rs 1.04 crore

  • Audi is offering the 2021 RS 5 with updated LED headlamps and tail lamps and 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

  • Interior changes include an updated digital driver’s display and Audi’s latest infotainment system.

  • The facelifted sedan is still powered by the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine like the pre-facelift model.

  • It rivals the Mercedes-AMG C 63 and BMW M3.

Audi has brought back the facelifted RS 5 to India in a 4-door Sportback version as a direct import priced at Rs 1.04 crore (introductory, ex-showroom).

The 2021 RS 5 features minor cosmetic revisions including a wider front grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers as well as updated LED headlamps and tail lamps. Audi has also equipped the facelifted sedan with 19-inch alloy wheels and dual exhausts. It is available in eight exterior colours: Nardo Gray, Turbo Blue, Tango Red, Mythos Black, Glacier White, Navarra Blue, Sonoma Green, and Daytona Grey.

In terms of features, the only changes in the facelifted model are the updated digital driver’s display, Audi’s latest MMI infotainment software, and cubby holes in lieu of the touchscreen system’s swivel controller. Other than these, the RS 5 continues to come with a panoramic glass roof, ambient lighting, heated and auto-dimming ORVMs (outside rearview mirrors), three-zone climate control, and a 180W 10-speaker sound system. Its safety kit includes six airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, and front and rear parking sensors.

Under the hood, the 2021 RS 5 comes with the same 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol engine (450PS/600Nm) as before. Audi is offering the engine with 8-speed automatic transmission. The performance sedan’s 0-100kmph time stands at 3.9 seconds with an electronically capped top speed of 250kmph. It also comes with two RS modes, a stiffer suspension setup, and an all-wheel drivetrain. Audi has also equipped it with a self-locking centre differential to provide the exact amount of power at the front and/or rear axles.

The facelifted RS 5 locks horns with the Mercedes-AMG C 63 and BMW M3.
