911 highlights

Porsche will expand its 911 range with the launch of the GT3 variant on October 9, 2017. Unlike the other 911s currently on sale in India, the GT3 will be powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre, flat-six engine that produces 500PS of power and 460Nm of torque. The engine will be available with both a 6-speed manual transmission and a 7-speed PDK auto.

The variant with the manual transmission is capable to complete the 0-100kmph sprint in 3.9 seconds, 0-160kmph in 7.6 and reach a top speed of 320kmph. The same figures for the automatic gearbox stand at 3.4 seconds, 7.3 seconds and 318kmph respectively.

To save weight, the Porsche 911 GT3 has no rear seats, no dedicated luggage compartment, the roof is carved out of magnesium and the engine lid is made with reinforced carbon fibre. Porsche has even given this track-focused iteration of the 911 a bigger spoiler to improve downforce.

Although the car is yet to go on sale officially, Porsche's India website has already listed the prices. No matter which gearbox you choose, the ex-showroom Mumbai price is Rs 2,19,91,000.
