This propels the vehicle in crossing the speed limit of 100 Kmph in just 4.5 seconds from a standstill. It also enables it to attain a top speed of about 250 Kmph.

The car maker has equipped it with a 4.2-litre petrol engine that has eight cylinders and 32 valves. It comes with a total displacement capacity of 4163cc. This can belt out a peak power of 443.9bhp in combination with torque output of 430Nm, which is rather good considering the Indian road and traffic conditions. This drive train is compliant with EU5 emission standards.

Ed's Take: Sports cars like the Audi RS5 will have a fuel economy of about 3-5 km/hr, and when you go pedal to metal the figure could be even lesser.

It is incorporated with a proficient suspension system that comprise of a five-link type of system on the front axle and an independent trapezoidal-link on the rear one. It is further assisted by tabular stabilizers and coil springs, which helps it to face all jerks caused on uneven roads besides ensuring stability. Meanwhile, there is a rack and pinion based electromechanical power assisted steering system offered. This has speed dependent control and gives an exceptional response.

Safety & Security

Ed's Take: The safety features list on the RS5 is long with several airbags, ABS, ESP and even Quattro to never lose traction.

A number of protective elements are present in this couple. The list includes ISOFIX child seat mounting, automatic dynamic headlight beam control, anti slip regulation, first aid kit, warning triangle, safety steering column, integrated head restraint system and anti theft alarm. It has an electronic immobilization system that safeguards it from theft besides avoiding any unauthorized access into it. The electronic stabilization control ensures stability is maintained at all speeds irrespective of road conditions. There are dual front and side airbags that keeps the occupants safe in the event of a collision. The head airbag system further unfolds over the entire length of the side windows and gives maximum protection. The electronic differential lock brakes the wheels automatically on slippery roads and enhances protection. The interior monitoring system comes along with tow away protection. This helps in monitoring some of the areas in a car by way of ultrasonic sensors. ABS, EBD, and galvanized body structure with crumple zones are a few more attributes that provides enhanced security.

It has a modish set of 19 inch forged aluminum alloy wheels fitted to its wheel arches. These ten spoke designed rims are covered with tubeless radial tyres bearing the size 265/35 R19. The buyers can also opt for the attractive five spoke, 20 inch cast aluminum alloy wheels that are equipped with tubeless radials of size 275/30 R20.
