Audi India rocorded 103% sales growth in first qtr

Audi India, Germany based luxury car maker, has recorded the best-ever sales figure by selling 778 cars in the first quarter (Jan-Mar 2010), as compare to the 384 units sold in (Jan- March) 2009, accounted for a whooping growth of 103 percent. In the sales of month of March 2010, Audi India managed to sell 220 units of its cars in India as against 162 units it sold in March 2009, Accounted for a sales increase of 36 percent.

According to Benoit Tiers, managing director, Audi India, the first quarter of 2010 has seen record sales for Audi in India as it has continued to make steady growth toward achieving its progressive goals. True to company's philosophy of ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’, in the coming months, it will focus on enhancing the entire experience of owning a luxury automobile for its customers in the Indian market. This year, company's Indian customers can expect new avant-garde and sporty luxury models.

The Audi has more than half a dozen cars in its Indian product portfolio including the Audi A4, the Audi A6, the Audi A8, the Audi Q5, the Audi Q7, the Audi TT and the Audi R8.

Audi India is also planning to expand its dealership base in India by opening new outlets in cities like Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai (West), Jaipur, Chennai, Ludhiana. Currently the Audi model range is available at eight showrooms across India including in Gurgaon, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Kochi.
