    Audi A1 to be Introduced by October this year

    The new Audi A1 supermini model is all set to become the highest-selling model in the history of Audi after its launch in UK, October 2010. The Audi A1 was first showcased as a metroproject quattro concept at the Tokyo motor show held in October 2007. Most of the features and design of the vehicle which will be produced are same as the model shown at Tokyo Motor Show.

    The Audi A1 model will be available with two petrol as well as two diesel engines with featuring direct injection technology in all of them. According to company the Audi A1 is the most sporty and most luxurious car in its portfolio. After analysing the response of customers for 3-door hatchback in the market the five-door Sportback, a cabriolet models and a Cooper S-rivalling S1 will follow.

    The company is representing the Audi A1 as the “sportiest car in its class”. While the front of the model has been changed a bit compare to the original A1 concept. The Audi A1 model has LED daytime running lights which makes it unique in its class. Besides this the large, trapezoid single-frame front grille of concept vehicle hasn't been maintained in production model.

    Audi A1 is coming with a drag coefficient of 0.32 with short overhangs, a roof spoiler and a high beltline. Besides this its wheel arches can be joined to alloys of up to 18-inch. On the other hand the sloping C-pillars provides the A1 a coupé-like design. Audi A1 has a Wedge-shaped, single-piece lights decorated on the rear hatch with using LEDs as standard. The model will be available with a choice of 10 exterior colours.
