The base-spec Tata Altroz gets all the essential features you would need, however, it doesn’t get an infotainment system
The 2025 Tata Altroz facelift has been launched in seven variants or what they like to call ‘Personas’: Smart, Pure, Pure S, Creative, Creative S, Accomplished S and Accomplished Plus S. The Smart is the entry-level variant of the Altroz, priced at Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom). While you have already seen the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift in a top-spec variant, in this report, we give you a detailed rundown about the new base-spec Altroz below.
Front
Up front, the base variant of the new Altroz sports the updated design with the revised front grille and thick black element on the bumper. However, it gets halogen projector headlamps instead of the dual-pod LED units offered in higher variants and also misses out on LED DRLs and fog lamps.
Side
On the side, it features flush-type front door handles with illumination, which is a segment-first feature. The rear door handles remain integrated into the C-pillars. It rides on 16-inch steel wheels with half covers, while higher variants also offer stylised wheel covers and alloy wheels.
Rear
At the back, the Altroz Smart variant has LED taillights connected by a faux red strip. The higher variants feature an illuminated light strip instead. The base variant also features a black bumper but lacks an overhead antenna, rear wiper and washer, as well as a rear defogger.
Interior
While the new Altroz is offered with a new black and beige cabin theme in higher variants, you get an all-black interior paired with a white headliner in the base-spec Smart trim. The dashboard gets an all-black finish and the expanse of gloss black plastic in the higher variants has been deleted here.
It features the new 2-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo. It misses out on an infotainment system, while the instrument cluster is a smaller 4-inch semi-digital unit.
Instead of the touch-based control for AC with toggles, this variant has the physical buttons for the AC.
Rear seat occupants also don’t get rear AC vents and the armrests for both front and back occupants have been given a miss. Also, the rear headrests in this variant are fixed and cannot be adjusted.
Features Safety
The 2025 Altroz’s base-spec Smart variant is equipped with features like manual AC, remote keyless entry, multi-drive modes (Eco, City and Sport) and power windows for all four doors. You miss out on more modern amenities like the 10.25-inch touchscreen, 8-speaker sound system, ambient lighting, wireless phone charger and a single-pane sunroof, all of which are available with the higher trims.
Despite being the base variant, it comes equipped with essential safety features like six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX child seat anchors, 3-point seatbelts for all seats, and rear parking sensors. However, this being a base model, you do miss out on a few additional features like a 360-degree camera and tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
