Tata has only shared the starting prices for all the different variants of the Safari facelift and the full price list is expected to be revealed soon. Furthermore, the panoramic sunroof is an optional extra on the Pure+ variant, while ADAS is an add-on for the Safari Adventure+ variant.

The starting price of the new Safari has gone up by Rs 34,000 compared to the previous iteration. For the top-spec variants, the Safari facelift is dearer by well over a lakh. Now let’s get into what the new Safari is offering.

Modern Design

The overall shape and proportions of the new Safari are the same as its predecessor, but modern elements have been added on every corner. The front gets a connected DRL setup, a new sleeker grille, vertically oriented LED headlights and a redesigned bumper and skid plate.

Tata Safari Facelift Side

The side profile is more or less the same, but it now gets new 19-inch stylish alloy wheels and “Safari” badging on the front doors.

The rear end carries a similar design as the front. The tail lights are now connected, and the boot lip and bumper have been revamped. The Safari logo at the back is now bigger. Tata is also offering three new colour options: Cosmic Gold, Supernova Copper and Lunar Slate.

Tata Safari Facelift Interior

Inside, the cabin gets the same treatment of impactful modern design tweaks. The dashboard is layered, gets wooden inserts and has a smoothly curved design at the bottom. The grab handles are pretty much the same but there is a new 4-spoke steering wheel with a backlit Tata logo and a touch-enabled climate control panel in the centre console.

Same Powertrain

The updated Tata Safari has the same engine as its pre-facelift version. The 2-litre diesel engine makes 170PS and 350Nm, and comes paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The automatic variants also get paddle shifters for convenience.

Tata has also developed a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine for the SUV which will be added to the new Safari in due time.

Expanded Feature List

Tata Safari Facelift Touchscreen

With this facelift, Tata has made a lot of additions to Safari’s feature list. It now gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, multi-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control with a touch-based AC panel, 10-speaker JBL sound system, and a powered tail gate.

Other features like a wireless phone charger, panoramic sunroof and ventilated front seats (2nd row seats in the 6-seater variants) have been retained. The driver’s seat is 6-way power adjustable in the top spec with a memory function.

Even in terms of safety, the Safari now gets up to 7 airbags and its ADAS suite now includes adaptive cruise control. Other safety features include ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), 360-degree camera, lane departure warning, blind spot detection and auto emergency braking.
