Speaking of the stylistic makeover, looking at the spy shots - major changes in the 2015 Mahindra XUV5OO facelift are concentric to its front fascia. Expect updated headlights featuring static bending technology like the new Scorpio along with a new grille and refreshed bumper. The rear profile is also getting a slight refresh and it rides on new set of alloys, M&M even camouflaged the alloys!. Moreover, seems like interiors are also getting a subtle makeover since Mahindra has put a camouflage on the dashboard. Adding on this context, expect updated infotainment system along with few added blings.

Mechanically, XUV5OO will be powered by the same 2.2-liter mHawk-140, direct injection variable geometry turbocharged (VGT) diesel. The 2179cc oil burner chucks out 140 bhp @ 3750 rpm and 330 Nm of peak torque @1600-2800 rpm. In the current state of tune, 2.2-liter mHawk-140 delivers 15.1 kmpl - ARAI certified efficiency and is likely to remain same. As of now, the oil burner is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, but it is expected that the facelifted XUV5OO will get a new six-speed automatic option. Mahindra will continue the 2WD and AWD options in the updated SUV.
