2013 Skoda Octavia Caught in Action- Video

Ever since the news came out about the facelift version of Skoda Octavia coming in 2013, the sedan has been on the front pages of auto portals. Earlier the 2013 Skoda Octavia was in news as a blurry video of the camouflaged sedan came out and after that the Czech Auto officially unveiled the sedan with all the new specs revealed. The 2013 Skoda Octavia will launch at next year’s Geneva Motor Show and then the sedan will be available for grabs across the globe. Skoda Octavia vRS is expected to launch sometime next year and with a station wagon (Combi) variant and hybrid version on cards and due to launch in 2013 and 2014 respectively.

The 2013 Skoda Octavia is going to be the first vehicle in Skoda’s model line-up which is going to be spawned on the MQB platform after Volkswagen Golf and Seat Leon. The dimensions have gone bigger translating into more space and comfort, even though the size has gone bigger the weight has gone down all thanks to the MQB platform. The new version’s performance can go way higher even if the sedan runs of the same turbo petrol and turbo diesel engine line up as the weight has gone several notches down.

The MQB platform attributes are not just restricted to the weight and performance rather goes pocket friendly also as it brings in a lot of cost saving which means that the company might price the new version closer to the outgoing one. Coming to the India, 2013 Skoda Octavia will be the new face for the current Skoda Laura. The Indian model is expected to be powered with the present 1.8L turbo petrol and 2L turbo diesel engine. The engine will come with options of 6 speed manual and 6 speed DSG dual clutch gearbox.
