Nissan Pathfinder is a name not very popular in India. However this SUV is amongst one of the most popular in the US, European and Middle Eastern markets. After the release of the initial starting price of the new 2013 Pathfinder, Nissan has publicised the full pricing of its 4th generation Pathfinder line-up before deliveries begin at the end of this month.

The 2013 model incorporates the uni-body structure previously used for the Nissan Pathfinder and is available with a 3.6-litre V-6 configuration engine that will hand out 260bhp and is connected to the drivetrain via their next-gen Xtronic CVT (Continiously Variable Transmission) for improved fuel efficiency. This model is available in both 2WD and 4WD and comes in a quad trim levels; Pathfinder S, SV, SL and Platinum.

The prices for have been ascertained at Rs. 14.98 lakh for the base variant 2WD Pathfinder S and the top-end model, the Pathfinder Platinum with 4WD is offered at Rs. 21.60 lakh. Ok enough about the prices. What does this popular SUV have to offer? For starters, the Pathfinder is a very spacious 7-seater that offers 3-row seating charts for the passengers and a fuel economy of 9.3kmpl for the 2WD variants and 8.9kmpl for the top-end 4WD variants. Of course if India ever gets this SUV, the engine size will be down-rated and a diesel version would be the preferred choice. If Nissan decides to bring this majestic SUV to India there will be several factors to consider top among them being pricing and fuel economy. If brought to India the Pathfinder is likely to compete against such names as the Ford Endeavour, Mitsubishi Outlander and Honda CR-V among others. Nissan India, are you listening?
