10th Generation Honda Civic Spied in Thailand
The latest generation of Honda Civic has been spied on for the first time in Asia, supposedly its Thailand. The ASEAN-spec car will be specifically developed for the Southeast Asian countries. However, its Indian debut is still uncertain, but due to a large fan base in the country, the manufacturer may want to revive the nameplate. The North American iteration of the car was revealed back in September 2015, followed by the Coupe version.
Speaking of the spied vehicle, it wears a silver paint and sports a criss-cross pattern courtesy silver tape, while the fog lamps housing and the rear is tapped up as well. Though, the essential bodywork is well exposed. The car is based on an all-new platform that incorporates the flying H-Design concept of the Japanese manufacturer. Thanks to this, the four-door sedan is more of a sporty offering than some routine D-segment sedan. The raked A-Pillar, a sleek side profile, dropping roofline and a high-set boot lid. The spied car also shares the same set of diamond cut alloy wheels as seen on the US-spec car.
Power is expected to come from a newly developed 1.5-litre turbo petrol, but there could be an option of the naturally aspirated 2.0-litre motor that is currently available. The car could be offered with options of both manual and CVT automatic.
The front of the American-spec version carries a dropping down nose, angular all LED headlamps, LED C-shaped tail lamps and a creased boot. As far as the ASEAN version is concerned, it could deviate a little from the American, in the form of lights and maybe some bits of interior and exterior, but the basic amenities like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will remain unchanged with the infotainment system and the instrument cluster.
