Elon Musk has been gleeful and mentioned that the company has received more than 1,15,000 pre-orders in merely 24 hours!
We don’t know everything about the Model 3, but Elon Musk, the man behind Tesla, has provided us with interesting bits of information regarding it. Since it is a Tesla, it will be fast and as Musk said, “we don’t make slow cars”. The Model 3 will do from naught to 100 kmph in less than 6-seconds and he has added that there will be faster versions as well.The basic 6-second sprint is pretty good, considering the price bracket it will be falling under. You must be wondering about how many miles it will quench before running out of juice? Musk mentioned that the Model 3 will at least have a range of 215 miles (nearly 350 kms) on a single charge and in all probability it will exceed the said figure! It will come as standard with ‘Supercharging’. The Superchargers are the networks of charging stations around the globe by the automaker. They have around 3608 superchargers in the USA, Europe, and Asia. This number will double itself by the time the Model 3 will arrive and India is also expected to receive Superchargers!
Speaking of its design, the car shouts that it belongs to Tesla group. The Model 3 draws inspiration from the S and even the X. Hence, it doesn’t offer the front grille as the Model X. Unlike the remaining models, the interiors are entirely brand new. It has the cleanest dashboard layout you’ll see in any given car, at present. There are no buttons, just one large screen (15’’ screen), and unlike the Model S, it has been placed horizontally.
The company has tried to extract maximum leg room at the rear, by pushing the dashboard and front row slightly forward. Musk said that it has the largest cargo space available in this price brand and can carry a 7-foot long surf boat. Unlike the Model S, which can seat 5 adults and 2 kids, the Model 3 can seat 5 adults, with all ease.
While speaking about the Model 3, during an event, held at the company's design studio in Hawthorne, California, he started the talk with safety aspect. He stated that Model 3 will fetch 5 stars in the all the safety categories.
