Mahindra S101 compact SUV spotted testing
Mahindra S101, a compact SUV has been spotted during its test runs. Covered in the camouflaged, the test mule is spied on the highways of Chennai. Seeing the increasing demand of compact SUV, the home-grown manufacturer is also working on bringing two new compact SUVs codenamed, S101 and S102.

The S101 (shown in the picture) will be placed against the likes of Ford EcoSport while the S102 will lock horns with the Renault Duster. The new Monocoque chassis to be used in both S101 and S102 is being developed by the joint effort of Mahindra and Ssangyong. To again the maximum excise duty benefit, India's largest SUV manufacturer will bring this compact SUV under sub-four meter category while the S102 will be a bit longer.
On looking at the image, one can clearly link this to the Mahindra XUV 500 while to add some sporty characteristic, roof rails are provided. Inside the cabin, it has an ample space for five passengers. This compact SUV is expected to be in the showrooms by the year 2015.
