The Hyundai Creta 2018 has turned out to be a better package than it ever was
Hyundai has launched the mid-life refreshed Creta recently at a starting price of Rs 9.43 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The South Korean automaker has done just a few changes to make the Creta a better package than what it was previously. And it has already paid off as the Creta facelift’s bookings have crossed the 14K mark in just 10 days.
Here are the five things that have impressed us the most about the Hyundai Creta 2018.
Continues to be a looker!
Hyundai’s latest cascading grille does a good job of lifting a few wrinkles off the Creta’s face. Its sheer size makes it eye-catching. Throw in the redesigned bumper featuring new daytime running LEDs and larger skid plate, and the Creta now looks wider and more mature than before.
Although it is the Creta’s front profile that has undergone the majority of changes, the side and rear profiles too have received subtle changes to freshen things up.
A more premium package
The pre-facelift Creta was among the most feature-loaded SUVs in its segment. However, with the facelift, Hyundai has stepped up its game.
The Creta now flaunts class-exclusive features like power-adjustable driver’s seat, sunroof, wireless phone charging and a smart access band.
These features add to its existing long equipment list that comprises goodies such as six airbags, 17-inch machined wheels, traction control and electronic stability control, among others.
Price drop
Hyundai has increased the price of the top-spec SX(O) variant of the Creta by around Rs 50k with the addition of the new features that you’ve read in the point above. However, prices of some of the lower- and mid-spec variants (S, SX diesel and more) of the Creta facelift have gone down. Hyundai has also trimmed the Creta's variant lineup by discontinuing multiple optional variants.
Fully loaded petrol
Hyundai is offering a fully loaded SX (O) variant with the petrol-powered version of the Creta for the first time with the facelift. At Rs 13.59 lakh, it is now the most expensive variant in the Creta’s petrol lineup. It is definitely a good move given that the market share of petrol-powered cars and SUVs is gradually increasing. Moreover, now a buyer looking for the Creta petrol doesn’t have to compromise on features, as was the case before.
New vibrant colours
Hyundai has added two youthful colour options - Marina Blue and Passion Orange - with the Creta facelift. These were first introduced with the Elite i20 facelift which was launched earlier this year. Out of these two colours, Passion Orange can also be had with the Creta’s dual-tone colour scheme, which is available with the second-last SX variant.
