The three-row mid-size SUV segment is becoming increasingly popular in India. The latest to join the fray is Hyundai with the Creta-based Alcazar, a premium, feature-heavy offering. The Alcazar gets two engine options: 1.5-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol. These can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Why Buy The Platinum Variant?
You get almost all the premium creature comforts available with the Hyundai Alcazar, including leatherette upholstery, a 360-degree camera, digital driver’s display, a Bose sound system, power-adjustable driver seat, and a panoramic sunroof. The Platinum variant comes as both six and seven-seaters; the former with manual transmission and the latter with automatic only.

Why Skip The Platinum Variant?
If ventilated front seats are a must or if you want a manual transmission with the fully-loaded six-seater SUV, you have to look beyond the Platinum. Also, remember that the price jump from the Prestige variant is sizeable, ranging from Rs 1.62 lakh to Rs 1.92 lakh. Sure, the Alcazar Platinum does pack in a fair bit of extra, but if you can’t stretch this far, go for the Prestige.
On the other hand, if you can afford this one with the automatic transmission, we suggest you consider the top-spec Signature, which is priced at a reasonable premium and packs a few extra creature comforts.
