Kia has introduced a more premium version of the existing Kia Carens MPV, called the Kia Carens Clavis. The new MPV gets an updated fascia, new 17-inch alloys, new connected LED tail lamps and a thoroughly overhauled cabin.

If you’re still not well aware of the Kia Carens Clavis’s design, here’s a quick refresher.
Upfront, the Carens Clavis gets new triangular three-pod LED headlights with inverted L-shaped LED DRLs. The grille is blanked-off and the bumper features a blacked-out section with a faux silver skid plate.
The silhouette is similar to the current Carens MPV, with black cladding on the wheel arches, silver roof rails, and body-coloured door handles and ORVMs. However, the Clavis stands out with larger 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
At the back, it has new connected LED tail lights and an illuminated light bar. The rear bumper is finished in black and gets a silver skid plate, giving it a rugged look.
The Carens Clavis is available in eight monotone colour options: Pewter Olive, Imperial Blue, Glacier White Pearl, Clear White, Aurora Black Pearl, Gravity Gray, Sparkling Silver, and a new Ivory Silver Gloss.
Inside, the cabin features a dual-tone navy and beige theme. The dashboard layout is updated, featuring a two-spoke steering wheel and floating dual displays. Below the infotainment screen are controls that can be toggled between the infotainment system and the AC.
The front seat backs also come with foldable trays for added convenience. The Kia Carens Clavis is offered in two seating layouts: seven-seater with bench seats and six-seater with captain seats for middle row occupants.

Top highlight features in the Clavis includes dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a 4-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and an 8-speaker Bose sound system. The safety essentials include 6 airbags as standard, Level-2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, all four wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, ISOFIX child seat mounts as well as front and rear parking sensors.

Price Rivals
The prices of Kia Carens Clavis will be announced on May 23 and we expect it could start from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are already underway and the updated Kia MPV is being offered in 7 variants: HTE, HTE (O), HTK, HTK Plus, HTK Plus (O), HTX and HTX Plus.
The Kia Carens Clavis will rival the Maruti XL6, Maruti Ertiga and the Toyota Rumion, while also being an affordable option to the Toyota Innova Hycross, Maruti Invicto and Toyota Innova Crysta.
