Toyota Motors calls back 5,202 Lexus for defective gas pedal in china
The world’s largest automaker is going through a tough time these days, same as the last year when the company had to recall the cars for defaulted parts. With this new year the company had to call back vehicles in US auto market, with China being next where Toyota will call back its 5,202 Toyota Lexus to fix a defaulted gas-pedal in the car.
Toyota is operating well in the Chinese auto market which makes a major portion of its car sales. But if the company’s records are checked, then from the period of 2009 to year 2010, the Japanese player had already re called its 16 million vehicles. In the Chinese market the company markes 10% of its total sales making it an essential destination for the cpmpany. In the year 2010, Toyota sold 846,000 cars in China. As per the statement made by China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ), company will call back its faulted models by March 23. the organization will ask for complete details behind this fault from Toyota Motors.
The Japanese major has claimed that the Toyota Lexus manufactured between the time duration of February 2003 and July 2006 will be called back as these car models of Toyota Lexus RX300/350 might lack safety content in the car. The reports said that if the floor carpet which is placed around the accelerator pedal is not corrected and placed back at the right position, it may result in stressed operation of accelerator pedal. And at the severe case, the pedal may remain stuck in the floor carpet and not become operational when needed. For correcting the mentioned error in the Toyota Lexus, the company will dispatch a notification to the owners of the car by first class mail which will start from March. The corrections will be done at the Toyota and Lexus dealers.
