Toyota Etios Facelift Spied Testing

An updated version of Toyota’s sedan, the Etios, has been spied testing. The vehicle was heavily camouflaged on the front and back, hinting at changes in those specific portions, along with retouches in the steering wheel, whose centre was kept veiled. We are also expecting a digital instrument cluster and some minor tweaks in the interiors.
The spied version had a manual transmission, giving rise to speculations that the carmaker might continue with it in the facelifted version. There has been no news from the carmaker regarding development of a new engine, so we are expecting it to continue with the 1.5-litre petrol and 1.4-litre diesel mills, though it might refine and retune them to reduce the noise and increase the power figures. Presently, the petrol is able to deliver 90PS/ 132Nm and diesel is capable of giving out 68PS/ 170Nm.
Toyota launched the Etios in 2010 and then introduced a new edition in 2014. The car sales did not pick up as much as Toyota had anticipated, and a facelift might just help the sales climb. Even its competitors like the Chevrolet Sail and the Mahindra Verito are not settled in the market, which increases the facelift’s chances of capturing the market. There has been no word from the automaker regarding the launch.
