Zica-based compact sedan, Kite 5 (now called Tata Tigor) has been unveiled by Tata. The reveal at the grand event such as Auto Expo would certainly benefit the car in the long run. Tata Zica is currently the talk of the town as company has unleashed a never before product from its stable. Along with that, Tata has already announced that it will be launching a compact sedan based on Zica and now from the recent spyshots, it seems company will be introducing the vehicle very soon. The car was snapped undergoing test mule in the Satara city of Maharashtra. This has made us believe that the car will be showcased to the world at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016.

It is also rumored that the upcoming compact sedan from Tata will be called as ‘Sway’ which means ‘to influence’, ‘to win over’. Although, there isn't any official report from the company about this, but as Tata is known for adopting unique nomenclature for its cars, this might be another noteworthy in the series.

Coming to the spy pics, though, the car snapped is almost camouflaged, we can see the front grille and the side profile matching the Zica hatchback. Rear, like most of the other compact sedans in the class, is stubby with short overhangs. In terms of interiors, the car will be sharing the design elements and features from Tata Zica with some exceptions. The inside will feature Harman powered infotainment unit, powered by eight speakers, advanced AC, three-spoke steering wheel and safety features like dual airbags and ABS.

The automaker will be also carrying forward the powertrains, which are indigenously developed. The petrol engine will be the 1.2 litre 3-cylinder Revotron which produces 85PS and 114Nm of torque, while the diesel one will be 1.05 litre Revotorq motor generating 70PS and 140Nm of max torque. The engines will come paired to 5-speed manual transmission while an AMT option is also on cards, but at a later stage.

Tata’s upcoming compact sedan will take on the formidable rivals like Maruti Swift DZire, Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and Ford Figo Aspire. There is much to be revealed as Auto Expo is getting closer day by day.
