  • We first saw the eVX concept at the Auto Expo 2023 in India.

  • The new concept looks closer to being production-ready.

  • Exterior highlights include LED lighting all-around and large alloy wheels.

  • Its cabin is dominated by the connected displays and a yoke-like steering wheel.

  • India launch possible by 2025, prices could start from Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).

At the ongoing Japan Mobility Show, the Suzuki eVX electric SUV has broken cover in a more polished concept form. Suzuki had recently revealed the electric SUV’s interior in images ahead of its debut at the big auto event.

A Brief Of Its Design

Suzuki has given the eVX a new front look with sleek LED headlights and DRLs, featuring a triangular element, and a chunky bumper.

The electric SUV’s side is marked by large alloy wheels, wide wheel arches, and flush-type door handles. Its rear sports a connected LED taillight setup, having 3-piece lighting elements that have the same design as the updated DRL light signature, and a big skid plate.

How’s It On The Inside?

Suzuki has opted for a minimalist approach on the inside of the eVX. The highlights here are the integrated displays — one for infotainment and the other for instrument cluster. Apart from the screens, the eVX’s cabin also features long vertical slats in place of AC vents, a yoke-like 2-spoke steering wheel, and a rotary dial knob in the centre console likely for gear selection.

Electric At Its Heart

While Suzuki hasn’t disclosed details of the production-spec eVX’s electric powertrain, Maruti Suzuki – at the Auto Expo 2023 – had shared that the EV will come with a 60kWh battery pack capable of offering a claimed range of up to 550km. It was also confirmed that the eVX will feature a dual-motor setup making it all-wheel drive.

Expected Time Of Arrival

The eVX is expected to be launched in India sometime by 2025, with prices likely to start from Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). While its direct rivals will be the MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona Electric, the Maruti Suzuki eVX will be positioned as a premium alternative to the new Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400.
