Volkswagen and its financial/ PR crisis does not seem to be affecting the operations of its sub-brands and an example of the same is being demonstrated by Skoda. Recently, the company has released a range of offers and updates across its Indian line-up. One such instance was the renaming of Rapid and Octavia’s 'Elegance' variants as 'Style' and next up is the company’s premium crossover SUV, the Skoda Yeti. The SUV now comes in two trim levels, which include the Style 4X4 and the Style 4X2 variants. The 4X2 variant comes with a front-wheel drive type and is priced at Rs. 20.3 lacs, whereas the 4X4, more powerful variants costs Rs. 22 lacs (Ex-showroom New Delhi).

The renaming, however, has not resulted in the introduction of any mechanical updates and the Czech automaker’s SUV still incorporates the 2-litre TDI unit, which produces 108bhp in the Style 4X2 variants and has been tweaked to belt-out 138bhp in the Style 4X4 variants.

Regardless, most of the cars in the Skoda’s line-up now feature Style Plus and Style variants, in lieu of Elegance. The Skoda Superb remains an exception and will soon be replaced with a next-generation model which will be company’s new flagship sedan.
