Skoda Rapid sedan undisguised

Unwrapped mules of new car Skoda Rapid were captured in lenses recently. The sedan identical to the sister car Volkswagen Vento bears few signature design elements pertaining to Skoda. Otherwise the upcoming Skoda Rapid shares Vento’s platform completely. Described as special unveiling, the expected new Skoda Rapid price would be around Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Skoda Rapid is going to hit Indian market very soon.

Skoda Rapid features new C-shaped tail lamps and outwardly projected rear bumpers. The dashboard can see new color and rear AC vent should also make an appearance on the top-end model. Skoda Rapid will house 1.6 petrol or 1.6 diesel engine with manual and automatic transmission same as Volkswagen Vento. Both the cars have striking similarities, only price can be a key differentiator now as Skoda cars are generally a few thousand bucks less than the parent company’s (VW) cars. Skoda Rapid will enter the segment where the Maruti SX4 diesel, new Ford Fiesta and new Hyundai Verna are already competing. After Skoda Yeti, Skoda will make news with the launch of Skoda Rapid. Skoda India also offers Skoda Fabia which has seen arrival of new variants along with price cut recently.
