Skoda Auto India Aurangabad Plant grabs Prestigious international “Greentech Environmental Excellence Award”
Every year, Greentech foundation organises environmental performance competition for Indian Industries. This year too, the foundation conducted the competition in which 300 companies participated. M/S Skoda Auto India, Aurangabad has bagged the “Silver Award” in automobile sector from the Greentech Foundation for their their consistent and hardworking efforts to promote Environmental Management.
The event was organized in Novel Hotel, Hyderabad on 12thDecember 2010, here Mr. Rakesh Shrivastava, IAS Joint Secretary, Ministry of Shipping, Govt. Of India and Mr. Kamleshwar Shran President of “Greentech Foundation” presented the awarded to Mr. Sanjay Dutta, DGM HR and Mr. C. M. Sharma Sr. Manager Quality on behalf of Skoda Auto. The main objective of Greentech Environmental Excellence Award is to promote adopt the Environmental friendly techniques in the corporate sector.
Many senior government officials were also present on the occasion. In order to organise this competition sincere efforts were taken by Mr. Sanjay Datta (DGM HR and Admin), Dr. Abhay Kulkarni (Factory Medical Officer), Mr. C. M. Sharma (Sr. Manager Quality), Mr. Yogesh Wani (Manager Safety, Fire Security), Mr. Kailash Mohite (Assistant Manager Safety Security), Mr. Hemant Gayke (Fire Safety Officer and other plant officials). Dr. Oliver Gruenberg ( Managing Director Director Commercial), Mr. Markand Deshpande (Director HR Admin) CFO Mr. Sanjay Mundade congratulated “SHE Team” for this remarkable achievement.
Indian Auto Industry is taking relevant measures to adopt eco-friendly techniques. Electric Vehicles companies like Reva have made significant efforts to promote the EV's in the domestic auto market. Soon General Motors is also planning to bring in the electric vehicle. Auto major are now focusing to bring in Hybrid cars, already cars like Honda Civic Hybrid, Toyota Prius and Reva i are out in the market favouring environmental conditions.
