Range Rover Sport Diesel Hybrid to Make its Debut in Frankfurt
Land Rover that unveiled the all new Range Rove Sport at the New York Motor Show, is now planing to debut the diesel hybrid version of the car at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show, a company representative has confirmed. Both the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport will be offered with diesel hybrid system, however both won't be launched in North America due to emission standards.
Stuart Frith, Land Rover's Chief Programme Engineer for Range Rover Sport says that the Range Rover Sport diesel hybrid will derive its power from a diesel-electric hybrid mill. The Sport Hybrid SUVs will be on sale in Europe by the end of this year. He also confirmed that the company will bring a new diesel V8 engine powered Range Rover Sport in Frankfurt.
While Unveiling the Range Rover Sport at the New York Auto show, the company hinted at launching "an innovative, high-efficiency diesel Hybrid model", which we think will have a tuned 3.0-litre TDV6 diesel engine that we saw in the 2011 Range_e plug-in Hybrid. We are also expecting the same ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox, which we saw in the 2011 Range_e plug-in Hybrid.
