Nissan to launch affordable sedan for India
This year in July, Nissan Motors had launched its small car model Micra. The model has been getting good response from the Indian customers. This Nissan model has also started generating volume sales for the Japanese car maker. Due to this good reponse, Nissan seems to be gearing up for introducing another affordable model for the Indian customers. This will be the Micra sedan model which is expected to be launched at some time next year.

The launch of the new Micra sedan, by Nissan next year, will provide Indian customers the opportunity to soon have another entry level sedan vying for their attention by July 2011. This new model was seen going through some tests in China. This new Nissan Micra sedan will soon make its entry into some of the emerging markets including India. Though, till now, there is no official announcement from Nissan about the launch of a new entry level sedan in India but the company has already said that it will launch nine new models by 2012.

Launching of the new Nissan Micra sedan looks like a part of similar plan which will be competing with models like Tata Indigo, Maruti Swift Dzire and Volkswagen Vento model. The new model from Nissan is expected to be powered by 1.5-litre dCi engine. The same engine already drives the Renault Logan, producing 65bhp and a torque of 160Nm@2000rpm. The company is also planning to introduce the diesel variant of Micra hatchback.
