Mitsubishi Decides to Phase Out Cedia; New Focus to be SUV's
Mitsubishi has enjoyed great international success with its range of cars; however, despite producing some brilliant cars, the Japanese car maker has had little success in terms of sales growth of products in India. The Lancer, an internationally recognised model did not do very well in India. Neither did the Lancer's replacement, the Cedia. And now after a while of negative sales reports, Mitsubishi has decided to phase out the Cedia.

From what Mitsubishi has decided, the auto manufacturer plans on shifting its focus to SUV's for the Indian market. The Pajero, despite not being able to pick up the kind of sales enjoyed by its competitors, still made quite a name for itself in the market.

The same was true of the Mitsubishi Outlander, however due to the lack of a diesel engine, the vehicle was not able to make garner the expected sales. In the international market, the new Outlander houses a refined diesel engine, which if brought to India, might help a lot with the Outlander sales.
