Mitsubishi begins production of Mirage
Mitsubishi has begun the production of Mitsubishi Mirage in Thailand. However, it is still not confirmed if the car will hit the Indian roads or not. Right now, this car is being manufactured at a new factory of the firm located at Laem Chabang in Thailand. Mirage is a very significant car for the firm as it will replace its old Colt hatchback in a number of markets. Apparently, Mitsubishi will put Mitsubishi Mirage on sale by next week in Thailand and is also planning to export it to few Southeast Asian countries, which include Europe, Japan etc. In Thailand car market, the new Mitsubishi Mirage is expected to be priced around THB 380000 to 551000, which comes out to be Rs. 6 to 9 lakh

Talking about the technical specifications of Mitsubishi Mirage, the hatchback will feature 1.2 litre of four cylinder engine, which would produce 78 horsepower. Consumers will be given the options in terms of gearbox, either one could choose five speed manual gearbox or a CVT transmission. On the other hand, Bluetooth smartphone connectivity, dash mounted touch screen and a navigation system comes as standard features in Mirage. Mitsubishi has designed Mirage with great care and concern and has made it extremely fuel efficient. The car will sport start-spot button facility with low friction tires.

This hatchback car could either run on petrol or a combination of ethanol and petrol. As per the firm, the fuel economy of this hatchback would be close to 30 km per litre. Presently, there hasn’t been any confirmed news about the launch of Mitsubishi Mirage in India. But rumor has it that Mitsubishi is considering on creating India as their small car center. But nothing is confirmed as yet. In case, Mitsubishi starts manufacturing Mirage in the country, then it would be able to export it to neighboring countries, such as Pakistan, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
