Maruti Invicto Launched At Rs 24.79 Lakh
The most premium Maruti offering ever is only available with a strong hybrid powertrain
The latest model from a global partnership, the Maruti Invicto, has officially entered the market. A rebadged version of the Toyota Innova Hycross, the new premium MPV from Maruti is only distinguished by its revised grille and taillamps, and new cabin theme. It is priced from Rs 24.79 lakh to Rs 28.42 lakh (ex-showroom) and can be opted in Zeta+ and Alpha+ variants. Variant-wise prices are as follows:

The Alpha+ and Zeta+ variants carry a massive difference of Rs 3.63 lakh.
What’s on offer?
Given its Innova Hycross roots, the Maruti Invicto gets the same set of premium features, many of which are a first for the Indian brand. This includes comforts like dual-zone climate control, memory settings for the power-adjustable driver’s seat, and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Invicto also comes with a panoramic sunroof, a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch TFT MID, ventilated front seats and leather upholstery. Compared to the Hycross, the JBL sound system and powered second-row Ottoman seats are missing.
There is no change in the layout of the interior compared to the Toyota MPV, but the theme changes from chestnut brown to black.

The Invicto offers 6 airbags, ISOFIX anchorages, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, hill start assist and vehicle stability control. Surprisingly, the ADAS feature has been skipped which is offered on its sibling, the Innova Hycross.
New hybrid powertrain
Maruti’s first strong hybrid offering was the Grand Vitara with a 1.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor. The Invicto comes with a larger 2-litre unit that has a combined output of 186PS and 206Nm from the engine and motor. It comes mated to an e-CVT automatic only. This hybrid setup makes for an impressive claimed fuel economy of 23.24kmpl.
The non-electrified 2-litre petrol engine option from the Innova Hycross appears to have been skipped for the Invicto.
Rivals
The Maruti Invicto is now in the same position as the Toyota Innova has been through its generations, with no direct rivals. It’s a premium alternative to the Kia Carens while also an alternative to three-row SUVs like the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus, Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar. Perhaps the only contender for the Maruti MPV is its donor car, the Innova Hycross.
