Maruti 800, the preferred choice of Bangalore thieves
Maruti 800s cars are not only popular among customers but these models are also the preferred choice of the thieves in Bangalore. The carjackers are constantly targeting these models – White Maruti 800s- because these four-wheelers are in a high demand. This surprising fact was revealed recently when the three alleged car lifters were arrested. The police was successful in recovering 18 Maruti 800 cars which were all in white colour. Many two-wheelers were collected as well.

The thieves are quite smart to have thought of stealing the white-coloured Maruti 800s as the white cars can be repainted in an easy manner whereas the cars which are painted in some metallic colours are difficult to repaint. The police also got to know from the thieves that opening a locked Maruti 800 car was easier in comparison of unlocking other cars. This was a plus point for the thieves. The information also reveals that the stolen Maruti 800s are sold in rural areas. In these areas, the cars in white colours are in high demand. These cars are also preferred by the commuters of small towns and semi-urban areas of the state.

The investigators also revealed that the Maruti 800 models of 1990 and 1995 are considered as the most long lasting ones. The carjackers target those models which are parked on the roads. Such models also help fetch a good price, added the investigators. Meanwhile, The police meanwhile have a doubt whether the arrested carjackers are a part of some big gang.
