Mahindra's new SUV spotted in Bangalore
Mahindra's new sports utility vehicle (SUV) was spotted testing on the Bangalore roads. Mahindra new SUV size, almost equivalent to Chevrolet Captiva in size will compete with various SUVs and soft roaders in the segment in India. As per the rumors doing the rounds, the new utility vehicle will sport mHawk powertrain from Mahindra Scorpio but in the new SUV it will churn more power which is speculated to be around 140 to 160 bhp. It is also being assumed that the SUV will feature adaptive cruise control, airbags, ABS and more.
The new SUV is Mahindra's first monocoque construction with a speculated price tag of Rs 15 to 18 lakh. As per the sources, the SUV will enter during September 2011 around the festive time.
Few days back, a news from Mahindra revealed that the company will launch 8 to 10 new cars which will include the premium sports utility car in various auto mobile segment by March 2012 which further confirms the test drive being conducted.
Pawan Goenka President in the Auto and Farm Sectors at Mahindra Mahindra (MM) sated sometime back that the company is planning to introduce many new cars in the passenger car segment and also in the commercial vehicle segment starting from this year till March 2012.
The company recently launched Mahindra Genio and as per the sources it is also reported that the 8 to 10 car models will include new variants, or refreshed version or more.
Mahindra will also bring in a new premium sorts utility vehicle positioned above Mahindra Scorpio. The new SUV to be unfolded by the end of 2011 will enhance the company's current portfolio.
