    Mahindra XUV500 Passes ANCAP Test

The XUV500's tested model was launched in Australia this year only, and as per the rules, it had to get all the necessary certificates, and clearing the ANCAP test was one of the most important priorities in order to make its way to the launch. Apparently, the Mahindra XUV500 just not cleared the test, but it performed reasonably well on various grounds. It was awarded 4 stars in safety ratings and earned 26 out of 37 points in the crash testing. It scored 16 out of 16 in the side impact testing and a reasonable 10 out of 16 in the frontal impact testing.

Clearning ANCAP testing is mandatory for every all-wheel-drive variant if the company wishes to move on to the launching phase. The standard equipment that needs to be present in the vehicle are Electronic brake distribution(EBD), Antilock brakes (ABS), Dual frontal and side airbags and electronic stability control (ESC). The other SUVs which performed exceptionally well in the test include Volvo XC60, Audi Q5 and Kia Sportage by securing an overall score of 36.53, 35.21 and 35.1 respectively out of a total score of 37.
