Mahindra XUV500 Crosses 35,000 Sales Units in an Year
In a span of one year, Mahindra & Mahindra managed to sell 35,000 units of their SUV, Mahindra XUV500. Announcing the same, Mahindra launched an advertisement as well, marking the completion of an year and the number of units for the XUV500 that were sold. Since the launch of the vehicle it has been creating a lot of ripples in the market with its performance, style and the 2.2-litre mHawk engine. The price of Mahindra XUV500 begins from Rs. 11.68 lakh and goes up to Rs. 14.25 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).

The XUV500 is powered with the 2179cc mHawk engine which churns out 140bhp at 3750rpm and a torque of 330Nm at 1600-2800rpm. This particular engine is more powerful than the one used in the Mahindra Scorpio and comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The automatic version is also soon to come, but this 'soon' is somewhere close to an year or so before the finished models will hit the showrooms.
The engine on the Mahindra XUV500 performs extremely well on even the most challenging of terrains. Based on similar but downsized engine is the all new sub-4meter compact Mahindra Quanto. The new compact is priced between Rs. 5.99 lakh to Rs. 7.57 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi).
