Reminding you up a little, the automatic variant was not introduced when Mahindra launched the next gen Scorpio in September last year, but seeing the rising demand for automatics in the country, the automaker too decided to introduce the automatic variant. However, we still have to hear the official announcement from the company.

The new Scorpio rides on a completely new chassis with improved suspension setup with anti-roll technologies. It also gets some updated features like swept back headlamps, day-time-running-LEDs, vertical slat grille while the rear gets D shaped LED taillamp cluster. It gets a new touchscreen infotainment system while some features like rain and light sensors are carried forward along with cruise control and TyreTronics.

Scorpio features a 2.2 liter mHawk CRDI diesel engine. This 2,179 cc 4-cylinder motor features variable geometry turbo with inter-cooler and churns out 120bhp of max power at 4000rpm with 280Nm of peak torque in between 1800-2800rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual and this drive-train comes with 2WD or an optional 4WD setup. The top S10 also comes with Micro Hybrid technology. The base S2 variant comes with 2.5 liter turbo-charged CRDI engine producing 75bhp at 3200rpm and 200Nm of peak torque in between 1400-2000rpm mated to a 5-speed MT.
