It is the most powerful Huracan ever made

Update: Lamborghini Huracan Performante Launched At Rs 3.97 Crore

During the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show, which closed its doors to the public on March 19, 2017, we saw Lamborghini flaunt its latest addition to the Huracan family. The Italians have christened it as the Huracan Performante. It seems that Lamborghini is in a hurry, as without wasting much time, the company is all set to launch it in India tomorrow. Slated to become the sixth variant in the Huracan’s brochure, the Huracan Performante is the most powerful of them all.

Although the two-seater supercar is powered by the same 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine that is bolted to the rest of the Huracan range, it packs more punch. In the Performante spec, the petrol engine cranks out 640PS of power and 600Nm of torque. The grunt is harnessed by a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and power is sent to the road via an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive system. With 70 per cent of the engine’s torque available at just 1,000 rpm, the car catapults from naught to 100kmph in 2.9 seconds and reaches a claimed top speed of 325kmph.

This insane performance pays dividend when you take it on a race track. Lamborghini claims that the Huracan Performante completed one lap of the famous Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany in 6 minutes and 52.01 seconds. That is the fastest lap time ever to be recorded by a road-legal car. In other words, the baby bull is nearly five seconds faster than the Porsche 918 Spyder, and seven seconds quicker than its elder sibling, the Aventador SV.

While Lamborghini engineers have worked to get more power out of the same engine, they have also ensured that the car went on a diet. The Huracan Performante is 40kg lighter than the standard car, thanks to a hybrid aluminium and carbon fibre frame. Even the body is carved out of aluminium and Lambo’s own forged composite.

The current range of the Huracan starts at Rs 2.99 crore. The Huracan 610 Spyder carries a price tag of Rs 3.89 crore. We expect the Huracan Performante to top that list with a price around Rs 4 crore.
