Kia Carens Clavis EV Unofficial Bookings Open Ahead Of Its July 15 Launch
The Carens Clavis EV will offer a claimed range of 490 km with a 51.4 kWh battery pack option
The 2025 Kia Carens Clavis EV is about to be launched on July 15. Ahead of its debut, some dealerships across major cities in India have started accepting bookings unofficially for the premium MPV. If you are eager to put your name down for one, here’s all you need to know about the electric MPV.
Design
The Carens Clavis EV looks the same as its petrol and diesel models, except for a charging port in the blanked-off grille and newly designed alloy wheels with aerodynamic covers. It also sports the 3-pod LED headlights complemented by angular DRLs and pixel-type fog lamps like the combustion-powered Carens Clavis.
On the sides, it gets roof rails, body-coloured outside rear view mirrors (ORVMs), and fine body cladding with a silver insert.
At the back, it has the same connected LED taillight, a rear wiper, a rear defogger, and a similar bumper with a faux silver element.
Interior Features
The Carens Clavis EV has a similar-looking cabin to the ICE model. However, it gets a new white and black cabin theme with a 7-seater layout. In terms of features, it is equipped with a panoramic sunroof and a clean dashboard with horizontal elements, including dual 12.3-inch displays and a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel. It gets a sliding tray in the centre console that offers storage space underneath.
Other features in the Carens Clavis EV are likely to be similar to the fossil fuel-powered model, such as a wireless phone charger, auto AC, ventilated front seats, and a premium sound system. It may also offer some additional equipment like vehicle-to-load (V2L) charging and powered seats.
In terms of safety, it is expected to get six airbags as standard, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, front and rear parking sensors, disc brakes on all four wheels, and a Level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).
Battery Pack Range
Kia has revealed that the Carens Clavis EV will come with a 51.4 kWh battery pack, offering a MIDC (part 1 + part 2) claimed range of 490 km. It is also likely to come with other battery pack options, though detailed specifications have not yet been disclosed.
Price Rivals
The Kia Carens Clavis could have a price starting from around Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom), although it's yet to be officially announced. It doesn’t have a direct competitor, being the first ever electric MPV in the mass market segment. You can consider it as an alternative to EVs like the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric and MG ZS EV.
