Hyundai i20 facelift coming in March-April, next generation i20 in the making

The new Hyundai i20 launch in India shouldn't be any longer now. While the aggressive testing has given us enough hints on the closely approaching launch, the 2012 Hyundai i20 could be introduced around March-April period after a catwalk at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March. The new Fluidic design is definitely going to be there on the Hyundai i20 facelift to see a feature-rich new i20 this time with a slight changes ergonomically to give a boost to the performance of the 1.2 L, 1.4 L petrol engines,a 1.4 L diesel powertrain and the gearboxes aiding the engines.

While Hyundai India is performing the last minute testing gearing up for the launch in India and abroad, there is the future generation Hyundai i20 also in the making codenamed as IB at the development stage. The next generation Hyundai i20 will have a more pronounced Fluidic design stamp all over it and fraught with sedan like luxuries with a lot of variation ergonomically to evolve out as an outstanding car. The 1.2 L Kappa petrol engine is most likely to be retained in the next generation car due to its improved mileage to meet the high demand for the fuel efficient car, while the 1.4 L diesel engine seamlessly delivering the 23 kmpl mileage could be replaced with an all new diesel engine for lower emissions and to meet the global emission standards which are constantly revised for greener environment.

By the looks of it, Hyundai is determined to develop a dream car surpassing the expectations working steadfastly to shun off the cheap car manufacturer tag it is usually attached with. The next gneneration i20, not to mention the new generation Hyundai i10 also in the development stage , could be the weapons to turn around the image slated for 2014-2015 launch more or less around the same time.
