Ford To Reveal EcoSport Facelift On November 14

The 2017 EcoSport has been comprehensively updated and will be launched in India next year.

American automaker Ford will reveal the thoroughly updated version of its compact SUV – the EcoSport– in Los Angeles on November 14. It will also mark the debut of the ‘EcoSport’ nameplate in the American market.

In India, Ford introduced a mildly updated Ecosport a year ago, with an uprated engine and a few additional features. The automaker also slashed the prices of this present version earlier this year, which boosted its sales. However, having been launched in 2013, the EcoSport has been due for a facelift. We expect Ford to launch the upcoming facelifted version of the EcoSport here in mid-2017. It will continue to compete with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Mahindra TUV300, among others.

Ford’s Chennai plant will remain one of the major global production hubs for the updated Ecosport, like the current version. Courtesy this, Ford will not delay the launch of the updated sub-4m SUV in the country. However, the prices are likely to shoot up because of the additional features and aesthetic upgrades.

Speaking of the changes, Ford will redesign the front profile of the vehicle, so that it is in line with the other SUVs from the Blue Oval such as the Edge and the Kuga (not retailed in India). The cabin will also be completely overhauled and will come with additional features (Ford's SYNC 3 infotainment system). The 2017 EcoSport will reportedly get mechanical updates as well.
