Ford offers the Endeavour with a new 2.0-litre EcoBlue turbo-diesel engine that makes 170PS and 420Nm. This engine is paired to an India-first 10-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV misses out on a manual transmission altogether.

On the features front, FordPass connected car technology debuted with the BS6 Endeavour and is offered as standard. It allows users to perform remote vehicle operations, track live location, and get an overview of the car’s telematics via the smartphone app. Other features such as active noise cancellation for the cabin, semi-autonomous parallel park assist, power-folding third-row seats, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof continue to remain on offer. It also comes with the 8-inch SYNC 3 touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Safety features include up to seven airbags, hill launch assist, and front parking sensors.

Among its rivals, only the Toyota Fortuner (Rs 28.66 lakh to Rs 34.43 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi) and Mahindra Alturas G4 (Rs 28.69 lakh to Rs 31.69 lakh, ex-showroom) are offered with BS6 engines for now. Both SUVs are more affordable than the Ford Endeavour by up to Rs 2.76 lakh. What’s worth noting is that only the Toyota Fortuner is offered with both manual and automatic transmission options among the three full-size SUVs. It will also rival the upcoming  MG Gloster (expected in 2020) and the Skoda Kodiaq petrol expected by 2021. The next-gen Endeavour has been spied internationally and is expected to arrive in India in 2022.
