Ford EcoSport Technical Details Revealed
A couple of days back, we brought you the details of all the variants, the much awaited EcoSport is likely to have in India, now a few journalists have got the technical specs of the car, which are invited to drive the car under EcoSport's global drive program in Goa. We are writing the story on the inputs shared by Siddharth V Patankar, Editor- Automotive NDTV on his twitter handle.

As it is already known that the EcoSport will come up with three different engine options- a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre TDCi and the revolutionary 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine. The 1.5-litre petrol engine churns out the maximum power output of 110bhp and 140Nm torque. The 1.5-litre TDCi diesel engine returns 89bhp and 204Nm and promises to return an impressive 22.7kmpl of mileage.
While the 1.5-litre diesel engine will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox, the 1.5-litre petrol will be offered both in the five-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearbox options, returning the mileage of around 15.8kmpl and 15.6kmpl respectively.
Now we'll talk about the engine for which everybody is eagerly waiting- the award winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost, three-cylinder engine, which despite being a smaller engine returns 122.5bhp and 170Nm, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It also impresses with its fuel economy of 18.9kmpl. The 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol (EcoBoost) however will be offered with the Titanium and Titanium optional variants. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost powered top variants will also not get the automatic transmission gearbox.
