Fiat Punto EVO will compete with the likes of 2014 VW Polo, Maruti Suzuki Swift and the upcoming Hyundai i20. The hatch is coming with plethora of changes inside-out – a fresh new face, segment-first rear LED tail-lamp, new interiors with ambient lighting and premium upholstery.
Mechanically, the car will be powered by the similar set of engines, found in the outgoing car; there are two petrol and two diesel options. To start with the petrol, the EVO offers 1.2L and 1.4L FIRE petrols. The sluggish 1.2L gathers 67bhp and 96Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively, while the sportier 1.4L offers 88.8bhp of max power and 115Nm of peak torque.
On the diesel front, the vehicle gets 1.3 liter MJD in two state of tune. The Punto EVO diesel offers 75bhp and 200Nm of max torque, whereas the Punto EVO Sports features VGT turbo chargers that belts out 92bhp and 209Nm of peak torque.
Following the Punto EVO, the Italian manufacturer will launch the anticipated Avventura crossover, company calls it CUV (contemporary utility vehicle). Avventura will enter the Indian market next month and will rival the cross hatches in the market, but will give a tough tiff to the compact SUVs like Ford EcoSport, etc. Fiat Avventura CUV sports several segment first features like projector headlamps, day-time-running LEDs, boot-lid mounted spare wheel, etc.
