Attention grabbing news is coming from the Italian car maker Ferrari, who has officially announced to make use of a hybrid system in their upcoming mid-engined flagship car to be unveiled in the year 2013. Just 2 years earlier Ferrari had unwrapped 599 GTB concept enveloping its Hybrid Kinetic Energy Recovery System at the legendary Geneva Motor Show. Also the newfangled HY-KERS powered V12 engine which was unveiled at the recent Beijing Auto Show 2012 has been trimmed for a mid-rear engine layout specifically designed for Ferrari Enzo's heir; the car was spied testing two weeks back in Germany.

Ferrari hybrid system features two different electric motors- one being the seven-speed dual clutch gearbox which helps in boosting the rear wheels while the other one powers the supercars components including AC, power steering, brake servos and other on-board automatic systems. The power supply is stored in the lithium-ion battery bag that is placed below the center-line of the car to distribute optimum weight with electrons being supplied into the cells during braking.

Ferrari is looking up for a 40% decrease in the CO2 emission and a major jump in performance with the introduction of Hybrid system. In spite of the weight going 120 kg more, the system will give you a 200 km/h a full 3 seconds faster; to further increase the performance and efficiency, carbon fiber has been used to cut fat extensively throughout the body and the chassis.
