Facelifted Ford EcoSport Likely To Get A New Colour

• A video has surfaced online showing a facelifted EcoSport in golden colour.

• Apart from the new paint option, the facelifted SUV will also get a few cosmetic changes.

• Could feature ventilated front seats and wireless charging.

• The facelifted model will continue with the same 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines as before.

• No major price hike is expected.

A facelifted Ford EcoSport finished in a golden exterior shade has been seen undergoing testing in a video.

The EcoSport is currently available in seven colours: brown, blue, black, grey, white, silver, and red. There’s no dual-tone paint option. The video confirms the introduction of a new colour, which seems to be the Luxe Yellow seen on the Europe-spec EcoSport. But we don’t know if Ford will discontinue any other paint option or add more. The spied model is finished in a monotone shade, still, the possibility of Ford introducing dual-tone options cannot be ruled out.

Apart from the new colour, the facelifted SUV will also get a couple of cosmetic changes such as a new DRL design (now positioned around the fog lamps), revised fog lamp housings and front grille, and new design for the alloy wheels. The carmaker is also expected to slightly update the interior with new features like wireless charging and ventilated seats.

Under the hood, the sub-4m SUV will continue with the 1.5-litre petrol (122PS/149Nm) and diesel engines (100PS/215Nm). The former will come with the option of a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed torque converter as before, whereas the diesel engine could only get a 6-speed manual in place of the currently available 5-speed MT.

Ford currently retails the EcoSport in six variants, priced from Rs 8.19 lakh to Rs 11.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). We don’t expect any major price hike with this facelift. The carmaker could launch the updated SUV around Diwali. It will continue to rival the Renault Kiger, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Toyota Urban Cruiser, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Kia Sonet, and Hyundai Venue.
