Exclusive- Volkswagen Polo Crossover coming this month
With the recent introduction of 1.2 GTi Polo into the existing line up, Volkswagen is all set the launch the Polo Crossover towards the end of the month. The Crossover which has been spotted on numerous occasion is likely to feature the 1.2-litre TSI petrol engine, which is fitted in the new Polo GT.
VW Cross Polo has 14mm more height than the Polo, 17-inch alloy wheels, black plastic moulding around the wheel arches, bumpers and side sills, which help it look more rugged. It also features the roof rails, making to look more aggressive than the regular Polo.
Talking about the engine configuration, the Cross Polo will get the same engine spec offered on the regular Polo hatchback. To attract more enthusiasts, VW is likely to fit the powerful 105bhp, 1.2-litre TSI petrol engine, which also powers the new Polo GT. It is also speculated that Cross Polo could be the first car to get the company's 1.5-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which is exclusively developed for India.
The exact pricing details for the Cross Polo is yet to be announced, but we expect it to be priced around Rs. 6.5-8 lakh. It will compete against the likes of Renault Duster, Ford EcoSport and upcoming Nissan Terrano.
