Entry level Renault Scala RxE diesel launches at Rs. 8.29 lakh

Renault India has silently launched an entry level diesel variant of its flagship sedan 'Scala' at Rs. 8.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Scala was launched a year before, and the company did not offer the base RxE variant in diesel, and hence the diesel variant RxL was started from Rs. 8.79 lakh.

Renault Scala

The new base variant Scala RxE enhances the Renault's diesel portfolio and provides buyers a competitive and well-packaged diesel option. Renault Scala has been available in six variants both diesel and petrol guise. The new Scala RxE diesel features a Driver side airbag, ABS (Anti-lock braking system) with Brake Assist and EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution), integrated music system, rear cooling vents, Anti-pinch power windows and others. The company is also offering a 2+2 year/80,000 km warranty with the sedan.

Scala RxE is powered by the same 1.5L K9K diesel engine that is capable of developing 84.8bhp at 3750rpm and a top torque of 200Nm at 2000rpm. The engine is mated to five-speed manual transmission, which transmits power to front wheels.
